About ICC
The International Cricket Captain
series is in my and many others opinion, the best cricket management sims
ever. Before ICC 2001, there was ICC, ICC 2 and ICC 2000. International
Cricket Captain was the first (obviously) and included all of the County
sides and International Test-playing nations. Although of all the
international sides, you could only play as England. The gameplay was a
little limited too. You could only bowl from over the wicket and as the
seasons went on the averages became farcical with super bowlers and poor
batsmen. But it was still a very good game for it's time.
Next came ICC2. This had more features than its predecessor. You
could play as any country in the World Cup, colored clothing was worn in
one day matches, the third umpire cam into play and of course, the player
database was updated. But most importantly the option to bowl around the
wicket was now available. A much better game than the original ICC.
After that came ICC 2000. The biggest new feature here was the
option of playing as any International Test playing nation in the world.
You could also play online, which gave an extra dimension to the gameplay.
and now there is ICC 2001: The Ashes Edition. There are no new
features in this game although the database has been updated again.
Although nothing has changed, this is my favorite ICC game at the moment.
I have heard that there may be plans
for a new ICC, if it's true, I'll be getting it, how about you
